The Real Reason You Are Not Making Money Online

I love to tell myself and others ‘remember to remind’. I often times have to remember to remind newbie entrepreneurs that success doesn’t happen overnight. I have to remember to remind readers about the right internet marketing strategies, because saying it one time isn’t enough. I have to remember to remind myself that our reasons for feeling unsuccessful are often times not the true reasons at all.

As a solo entrepreneur, I know you might feel that all the cards are stacked up against you, because I’ve felt that way. If you just  had more money to promote…. If you had more customers to buy … If you just had more products to sell… If you just knew what they wanted to buy… there are so many things that we fool ourselves into believing when we think some outside force is what’s holding us back from success when more often than not our issues are much more complex than a few what ifs.

If you really sit down and think about what’s keeping you from your online pot of gold, what do you see? Personally speaking, many times I see me feeling like a Jackie of all trades and master of none. The Drive and Desires of Entrepreneurs are both gifts and curses. We want to do it all as quickly as possible. We want to know it all before we learn it all. We want to get it all before we’ve put in all the work. We want so very many things that can each be realistically obtained when we remember to trade in our wants for those of the people we wish to call  customers.

As (not-so-nice) as this might sound, customers don’t care about your wants because they care about their own. If you truly want customers and want to make money online, you have to remember to remind yourself that it’s not about you and it never will be. It’s about them. It’s about slowing down your turbo-speed ambitions and focusing on one project long enough to really have it count for something and be valued by some one. It’s about giving them consistency and quality so that you can be seen as a trust worthy authority and that is the key. That is all any of us really need to do to turn curious browsers into loyal buyers.

If you can fight the urge to drop one project for the next ‘killer idea’ you’ll be able to master one thing just like the gurus you admire. If you take the time to build on your vision during slow sales and no sales, you can work through your hardships and your victories to come out the winner in the end. The people online who make the money generally aren’t the ones who got lucky or tapped into an easy money maker. They are the ones who kept their nose to the ground long enough to see all their failures, flops, and frustrations produce the success they focused on and actualized through hard work and dedication.

Making money and being successful at what you do is all about finding value in the little words with big meanings. Remember to remind yourself; be focused, be consistent, be true.
