4. Choose the Right Names
From your site’s domain name to each webpages filename, the more keywords you add the better. If your business name is your domain name and it does not really describe what your business is all about, remember to add that title tag. However, if you can get a domain name with your top keyword in it, go for it. Alternatively, you should name your pages as if you were describing what was on each page. An example of an optimized page is one called ‘wedding-planner-tips.html’ rather than ‘page2.htm’.

5. Build your sites external links through link exchanges with others, submitting to directories, or placing your link on free sites. External links show that people find your site interesting, which in turn helps improve your page rank in search engines.

Beyond actively optimizing your site for search engines, link building is one of the best no cost marketing strategies you have available to you. One of the most common strategies for acquiring more external links is through link exchanges with sites that have equal or higher page rank than you. If you are not clear on what your page rank is, you can search for a free online web tool to find out. If you have a decent rank of 5 or higher, you might even want to include that information when contacting site owners for possible link exchanges.
