[/membership] [membership level=”1,2,4,5,6,7,8,9″] There are millions are aspiring bloggers out there trying to stand out from the crowd and make a decent living from what they do. If you want to stand out from the crowd, you have to decide on a handful of topics you will regularly talk about on your space.

Your monetize your blog challenge for today is to outline a series of blog posts that you can put together. Over the years some of my focus topics have included self publishing, eBooks, getting paid for information and also blogging for business.

To see consistent profit from your monetization efforts your blog needs to stand out, which means you need to be known for something. Keep in mind that developing a series of posts is useful for a number of reasons:

1. This helps retain subscriber interest and gets them to return back to your blog.
2. Regular traffic helps with your Adsense click through rate
3. Steady growth of your social following helps attract media attention
4. Consistent material on a specific topic helps with SEO / visibility in Google

Series Creation Time management Tips
As a busy work at home mom it’s difficult for me to commit to blogging every day or writing a series of posts regularly on my blog. My work around to this issue is to sit down and write my series out in full in a word document. Once my posts are completely written I schedule out posts over a desired time interval (one a day, one week, or one a month). I call this time management technique ‘bulk tasking my blog posts.’

Time and energy permitting, sometimes I am able to schedule all the posts in one sitting. Other times devote one day a week to scheduling out the posts for that week. The latter of these solutions allows me to break up my posting schedule and with my outline, all I have to do is ‘cut and paste’ the text which significantly speeds up the publishing time.

Sometimes I want to do a series, but don’t have the desire to write it all down, so I do a video series or audio series instead. Sometimes it easier and faster to say what you are thinking vs write it down.

In those instances when you can’t find the time to write or create a video/audio series, consider building a series based on great videos you enjoy on YouTube that you would share with your readers. In your industry you are the expert. While it might be easy for you to find these videos, consider the fact that as an expert you know what terms to use and videos to look for. Beginners in your industry probably have no clue about where to start, which would make your video recommendations very helpful.

Developing a series based on other people’s videos is a great way to get it down quickly and to build your status as a key influencer. Just keep in mind that your blog is about your voice, so eventually you want to create at least one original series of your own (article, audio, or video format).

The big take away from today’s challenge is this: while creating a series won’t directly monetize your blog, it will help you boost your visibility and strengthen your blogs voice. This exposure will in turn get more views / clicks on the various monetization projects that you do have on your blog. And keep in mind that you can subtly recommend your products and services within your series, just making sure to put the actual content first.
