[/membership] [membership level=”1,2,4,5,6,7,8,9″] Your monetize your blog challenge for today is to go beyond basic affiliate marketing strategies. Once you find at least 2 – 3 businesses or products worth promoting, don’t simply post affiliate links or banners in your sidebar.

Take a page from blogs like StylePantry.com; editor Folake Kuye Huntoon shares daily photo posts of her favorite clothing. She also cleverly integrates affiliate links to some of the products she features, so if you like it and buy it, she get’s apart of the commission!

While she worked on building up her credibility as a fashion expert and key influencer in the urban style community, Folake figured out how to monetize her blog by recommending products to her readers. Don’t simply throw up affiliate links on your blog. Do everything with purpose. Think about how you can create lists of feature affiliate products to recommend to your readers vs simply trying to hard sell items to them.
