Content is king, consistency is key and for me Bulk Tasking ties it all together. So what is bulk tasking? As a busy mompreneur its so easy for me to say I will do something and then that ‘thing’ falls to the bottom of my to do list because I have a million other things to do. To be as productive and consistent as I can possibly be rather than trick myself into thinking I can commit to anything on a daily or weekly basis I like to schedule out time, do a bunch of stuff for a given task during that time, and then consistently share my content with the world.
For example: Back in 2010 I wanted to jump back into video blogging because I could never find the time to do my videos every week plus mama ain’t always cute for the camera (lol). So I took a few days out my schedule and hammered out 90 videos that gave me 3 months of content for my blog and a lifetime worth of video marketing material for my youtube channel. If you are a busy entrepreneur I highly recommend you choose bulk tasking high priority items on your to do list instead of telling yourself, “I will do it later” – when then later never comes.
Somehow I FORGOT TO BULK TASK when I started my Black History Month series, Making Our Market, 28 days inside the Black Business Community Online. I was doing good 8 days in and then everything went south of the border. It’s day 15 and between client work and mommyhood no new market maker posts have been posted. Arg… well it just goes to show you how hard it is to commit to doing anything on a daily basis beyond client work, emails, and family. For a few days I felt like I totally screwed up the whole idea of this project, until I figured out how to turn this lemon into lemonade… New Market Makers has gotten rave reviews during its 1st 8 days and I am way to busy to get all this done now SO I decided to make “Making Our Market” a regular part of the content on SistaSense.com.
When the spirit takes me to spotlight a great Black Business Owner or Bulk Task 10 at a time, I will do it and you will have it!
