5 Content Creation Hacks for Busy Entrepreneurs: Save Time and Get Better at Quickly Creating More Quality Content for Your Blog and Social Media Pages

Getting into a content creation rhythm can be tricky if you are always on a busy schedule. This can be especially frustrating when you finally make time to create content, only to find yourself wasting hours trying to figure out where to start or what to create. If you can relate to this challenge, trust me you are not alone. Most busy entrepreneurs struggle when it comes to finding the time to consistently work on their content because there never seems to be enough time to get it all done. The trick is to get better at quickly creating quality content, so you can make the most of the time that you have online. To help you do just that, here are five content creation hacks for busy business owners looking to get better at quickly creating quality content for your blog and social media pages.

Take a Page Out of Your Own Book

If you are an author, coach, speaker, digital marketer, or information product creator, you probably have written at least one book or created at least one lead magnet. Start to repurpose content from your books as material for your blog posts and social media pages. I repurpose my business books and freebie lead magnets for content marketing all the time. This is one of my ‘Write without Writing’ strategies. Create a list of your favorite parts including noteworthy points, pages, passages, stories, activities, quotes, resources, and examples. One really quick content creation hack is to start taking pictures or screenshots of pages from your books that you can quickly post on social media platforms to share meaningful messages or helpful advice without spending time putting content together. Your books are overflowing with information that you can quickly republish on your blog and social media. The added benefit to sharing excerpts from your books is that it gives you opportunities to promote your books and lead magnets while driving traffic to your website, products, and landing pages.

Use Your Media More Often

Make the most of any audio and video content that you’ve already created. For starters, you should definitely start uploading and sharing more of your previously created video content on YouTube. Furthermore, you can also republish some of your best audio content on your blog and on podcasting platforms. Many online marketers and entrepreneurs, myself included, quickly create and share quality content by regularly adding special episodes to their podcasts that feature excerpts or full replays from speaking engagements, training sessions, interviews, or great past conversations worth sharing publicly. Also consider regularly clipping your longer content into short-form content, like micro-videos that you can share as stories and reels across your social media channels. As a matter of fact, YouTube now has a ‘Clip It’ feature under most video posts, to make it easier for you to create shareable clips from your content. I call this the ‘Clip It’ strategy, one of several that I share as part of my training, Clever Ways to Repurpose Your Content, which is from my monthly mastermind for women entrepreneurs. If you are sitting on an untapped treasure trove of previously created content, start investing more of your limited time into making the most of what you already have.

Become a Pro at Audio

It’s widely known that podcasting is the new blogging, millions of podcasts are being created and listened to online all the time. If you are looking for more exposure and brand visibility, beyond seeking out podcast opportunities, invest more of your time into creating your own podcast. While writing is something that I can do, I’m super busy like you, so I tend to create a lot of audio content because I’ve found it’s actually faster for me to say my thoughts than write them down. I also found a great podcasting solution for entrepreneurs called Anchor.fm, which you can use for free to start your own podcast as soon as today. By the way, you could also embed your podcast episodes into your blog as a clever way to quickly create more quality blog posts and get more podcast listeners. The majority of the content will be in the audio itself, and you can reduce the amount you have to write by simply giving a quick overview of that episode, paraphrasing some of the most noteworthy points mentioned, or offering show notes – timestamps of when to certain topics are discussed in that episode for easy navigation.

Posts from Other People

Another quick content ‘Write without Writing’ strategy for me is to get some of your blog post content from other people. Guest article submissions can help you get better at consistently posting without being the only person creating content for your platform. Create a list of people you can reach out to and request article submissions from including business associates, friends, family, customers, and experts that you follow. You can even consider creating a submission page on your website and sharing that opportunity on your social media channels and in your favorite groups to connect with writers looking for exposure, willing to write content for your platform. You can also take things a step further by creating spotlight or point-for-view posts where you highlight video content you found on social media or episodes from podcasts you follow; making note of things you thought were worth watching, most interesting, and impactful to you.

Create Lists of Links

Social media is like a hungry beast that always needs to be fed. Our social media feeds are literally overflowing with new content every minute of the day, which means a lot of our great content only gets seen for a matter of minutes, if at all. As opposed to always feeling like you have to create something new, try working on getting more new eyes on your best old content by regularly creating posts that link back to previously created content related to one specific topic. This is actually an SEO strategy known as creating topic clusters and pillar pages, high-value content that internally links back to the content you’ve created on a particular subject. I’ve done this several times myself so that I can quickly create keyword-rich, easy-to-access pages that allow interested readers to explore my related ideas in one location. Beyond linking back to previous blog posts, you can also use this strategy to link back to noteworthy social media posts or videos you’ve shared on Twitter, YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. Most social media posts have a little icon, three little dots, that will give you access to the shareable link for that specific piece of content. I even use this strategy to create binge-worthy, special-interest ebooks and lead magnets designed to drive readers back to blog and social media posts connected to that specific topic. Try this technique out for yourself. It works.
