If you enjoy writing, consider turning your blog posts into an eBook or creating an eBook based on your area of interest. The first eBooks I sold online were about Internet Marketing and Starting a Business Online.

Over the years I’ve sold individual eBooks and eBundles from $1 to $297. I use ejunkie to sell my eBooks online because I can easily upload my files, track customer downloads, setup discount codes and create affiliate links.

I’ve based my prices on:

How much I personally want to charge
How much I think my audience is willing to pay based on other eBooks in that genre
If I want to use the product as an low-cost item to introduce people to my work
The Demand for that topic
The length of the eBook
The size of my customer base / blog readers

I’ve promoted my eBooks by:

Using sections of the content to create 1 to 3 Excerpt Posts on My Blog
Writing a eBook Release Post on My Blog to details what the book is about and include a special new product discount code for existing readers
Create Affiliate Links via eJunkie and give my affiliates anywhere between 10% – 50% commissions depending on the price of the book and how much I want to get people excited about promoting the book for me
Recording short video clips that I can post on youtube for additional exposure
Using my Social Media Marketing Check list (review here) for additional exposure
Giving away copies via contest to build buzz or get others review the material
