Blogalicious Lesson #5: Ananda Leeke and Pam Perry on Mobile Marketing and Cool Web Apps for Bloggers and Entrepreneurs

Is it me or are my subject titles getting longer (lol)? Folks read so many blogs and emails these days I often feel like I have to make it very clear from the subject on down, what I’m talking about. Gotta grab your attention, right? Well alright, today I want to talk about the importance of Mobile Marketing, Marketing Moments, and Web Applications that make our jobs as bloggers and entrepreneurs so much easier.

On day two of Blogalicious 2010 I had the pleasure of meeting Ananda Leeke, one of the amazing women on BBWO as well as a fellow author and tech savvy blogger online. I was so honored when Ananda asked to interview me at the event. It was pretty cool, because she grabbed her cell phone and we started talking! She did the whole interview mobile style and then uploaded it to this very cool website called CinchCast (listen to interview below).

SistaSense Circle Audio Session

At events you never know who you are going to meet, so its a good idea to have a mobile marketing plan in place. I’m gonna talk more about this in a second, but two things first. If you haven’t already done so, definitely check out Ananda’s fabulous Blogalicious photos. Also, the big interview question I answered in the audio above was …. Ananda is writing a new book about Digital Sisterhood and she wanted to know what that concept meant to me. Her upcoming book is entitled, “Sisterhood the Blog: A Memoir of Digital Sisterhood & Internet Adventures 1986-2011”. She has setup a page on KickStarter.com (a project donation website and another cool space to check out). Self publishing a book can be very expensive so her goal is to raise $500 for the project. As soon as I finish writing this post, I am going to make a donation (details here).

If you read my 1st Blogalicous post, you would have seen my video interview with the lovely tech savvy Pam Perry, who is also an author and book marketing coach. After our video interview, which Pam did on her iPhone, she told me she would be uploading that video within the hour! Again, if you have not invested in a good smart phone and/or if you are ONLY using your mobile phone to download games or ringtones (lol) you truly are not tapping into the power of mobile marketing today.

I spent the remainder of my time at Blogalicious tweeting on my phone, also doing mini-interviews (now on my youtube page), and staying apart of the community conversation that other bloggers were having throughout the event.

I am a big believer in being social AND also marketing my business whenever I can. As a matter of fact, a big part of the SistaSense Circle (audio series I did) was about sharing what I call my ‘Marketing Moments’; those moments when something happens in your everyday life that you can turn into a marketing opportunity for your business. I know for a fact, many of my fellow women entrepreneurs online aren’t struggling with finding a product … their BIGGEST PROBLEM is knowing when and how to sell that product, which is why learning how to improve your marketing skills and sales technique is SO very important.

Today I gave away 4 Instant Access Passes to my SistaSense Circle, if you DID NOT get one, click here and scroll to the bottom of that post to learn how you can listen to the complete SistaSense Circle #1 audio series in which I explain how I consistently increase my visibility and sales online without spending a ton of money or needing to be a technology guru … basically simple, practical ways you can make your online business better.

    LaShonda,

You are a wealth of information and I love the idea of mobile marketing. Or marketing on the go…I gotta go figure out my phone now. Thanks for sharing.
