I started my company in 2006 basically out of a need. There was a serious lack of more natural makeup options for Women of Color.Granted there were one or two companies that had darker shades their color selection was just as small, 1or 2 shades that most certainly were not my shade of dark. I wanted to create a line of cosmetics that provided great color pay off for women with my deep dark skin tone. So for the last two years I’ve been sharing my creations with the world(literally!).

Buying Black is important because we should always support each other in positive endeavors.We all buy items and services everyday, and if there is a way to put those dollars back into the Black community and allow another Black owned business to thrive and grow why wouldn’t we? I know I will.

About me and my business:

Neosoul.essentials, llc is a home-based bath and body business which focuses on the use of natural ingredients for skin and body care. To alleviate my daughter’s eczema, I developed a blend of shea butter and oils called Eva’s Shea Buttah Whip. I also developed a blend of five butters and oils which I call “megamix whip”. Whatever you may decide to purchase, you will receive a high quality natural skin care product that is made when you order. I also offer bath teas and solid lotion bars as well as solid sugar scrub bars. I only use natural oils and butters such as shea butter and hempseed oil and even when fragranced, my products are 95% natural.

All of my products are available unscented for sensitive skin, but I do carry a variety of natural and synthetic fragrances as well as some designer dupes. I also have men’s fragrances – my husband insisted there be a product for him.

Buying black is important so that we support our own businesses. Too many black businesses fail because of lack of support. I think it’s important to buy black because we need to start recycling our money within our own communities again. We need to utilize the buying power that we have so we can grow as individuals, as families, as communities and eventually nationally. I think large corporations have taken a toll on us in so many ways. This is a way to gain back what we’ve lost. To quote Tye Tribbett…”I want it alllllllll back…”
