The video above is entitled ‘Social Media Marketing for People Who Don’t Get It But Want To‘.

It seems like everybody wants to get into social media marketing, but very people actually get it. Inspired by my trip to the Black Enterprise Women of Power Summit, I decided to create this video for those in my circle who are interested in social media, want to get into it because its very popular, but don’t really understand the value of spaces like twitter, facebook, and youtube.

Documenting my amazing BE trip, I go through the different ways I was able to easily use social media portals as real-time marketing, conversation, business branding, credibility building, client retention, new client attraction spaces. While I know that sounds like a mouthful, this is in a nutshell exactly what you want to do and I’m hoping in this video I can shed light on how you get it done.

To some degree I do get into practical things that I do on social media, which you can do to promote your business and build your personal brand. For a more in depth understanding of how I use social media tools and blogging to build relationships, increase visibility as well as sales online I recommend you download my previous telecourse: SistaSense Circle: How to Increase Your Sales and Visibility Online.

If you are not in my social circle here are a few of my latest “Let’s Network Now Activities” … If you are a brilliant business woman click here and if you want to share your weblinks or words of wisdom click here.

Saving the best for last I want to say that it was truly an honor to not only attend the BE Women of Power Summit, but to have my Google Me video featured in the Black Enterprise Social Media Bootcamp workshop. If you are interested, you can go to the BE Insider Social Network to watch the Social Media Bootcamp Presentation.

The video above click here if you can’t see it, contains a few ‘ahah’ – ‘light bulb’ Lessons Learned at the Women of Power Summit. For the most part, I wanted to create this video because as professional women, black business women there are alot of us who have, are, and in the future will encounter the pressures of being the first “fill in the blank.” Knowing how hard it is to be a pioneer, hearing the stories of the WPS Speakers who have overcome so many challenges, I wanted to take this moment to empower you to be the Strong Black Woman That You Are.

Once you watch the video above, also watch this BE video and feel free to review all my posts on the Black Enterprise Women of Power Summit.

Above you will find one of my most recent videos: GoodBye Flip and Hello Sony Bloggie Camera, taken in the BE Digital Lounge sponsored by AT&T during my time at the Black Enterprise Women of Power Summit.

On the topic of getting into Social Media, one of the speakers mentioned how much she loved her Sony Bloggie. How easy it was for her to create a video and quickly upload it to the internet. While I knew about the Flip, I was not aware of the Sony HD Bloggie so VERY LUCKY for me to be able to do this video with a Sony Rep and find out more about this and other new cameras perfect for my fellow bloggers, work at home moms, and online entrepreneurs.

And funny enough, as soon as I posted this video on youtube, someone said “I was looking to get something like this great review. Thank you!”. It was nice to not only hear about this new camera, being the gadget girl that I am, but also share it with you guys as well.

While I at the moment am using my iphone 4 for most of my on the go videos, I am in the market for a GOOD CAMERA, so this might be the one. If you are curious why, to be honest I have so much personal media on my phone that I often have to download on my backup hard drive because its just too much, I would like to have a camera so it does what a camera needs to do!

  • (video) Valorie Burton Shares How to Bounce Back, Discover Your Strengths, and Tap into Social Media

    0

Above you can listen to my audio interview with renowned life coach, Valorie Burton. Click here for the direct mp3 audio link.

While at the Black Enterprise Women of Power Summit I had the pleasure of not only sitting in on her session “7 Principles to Reclaiming Your Power”, but also sitting down with her, discussing those things that can really hold us back in our personal and professional lives.

Valorie has a refreshing approach to self improvement, asserting that we can see more positive growth within ourselves when we focus more on our strengths rather than our weaknesses. If you recall, I’ve been pushing you to pledge for personal prosperity in 2011 and beyond. If you are ready to be prosperous, but aren’t clear on how to achieve this goal, Valorie’s teachings and books provide clear recommendations on how to be your best you.

She states, “Purpose is like a compass. You need to know why you are here.” Helping on us on our path to find purpose, Valorie breaks down the word into 7 crucial components P.U.R.P.O.S.E.:

    • Picture the possibilities
    • Use your failures and mistakes as learning lessons
    • Reach Out to Others
    • Put Things Into Perspective
    • Operate with Optimism
    • Serve Others
    • Enjoy the Journey

I believe in her book, “What’s Really Holding You Back?“, she breaks down in more detail these 7 principles, but I was particularly pleased that she gave us all a very simple, practical place to start. Using positive psychology techniques Valorie explains it all begins with two things: making a conscious effort to not fixate on your flaws and recognize those things that are right with you. Sit down and right down your strengths. If you don’t know what they are, a 5 minute survey at http://www.authentichappiness.com/ can plug you into your top 5 signature strengths, giving you a solid place to start.

She also let it be known that you need to know what ever you are going through is not worth your health and failing at something does not mean you are a failure. Having listened to her speak, I now know that if nothing else, all the busy business women in my circle need to sit down and read Valorie’s bestselling book “What’s Really Holding You Back?“. As I eagerly await her upcoming book, “Where Will You Go from Here? Moving Forward when Life Doesn’t Go As Planned.”

It was truly an honor to sit down and talk to Valorie Burton at the BE Digital Lounge sponsored by AT&T. Be sure to follow her on twitter @ValorieBurton. If you’d like to learn more about her books and coaching visit www.valorieburton.com.

  • (video) Twitter Marketing for People Who Don't Get It

The video above is entitled, “Twitter Marketing for People Who Don’t Get It.” During my conversations with other women at the BE Women of Power Summit and even talking to those of you who joined me on my last live social media call I’ve noticed a pattern. Everyone keeps saying, “I want to get into twitter, but I just don’t get it.”

While I was blogging away at the BE Digital Lounge sponsored by AT&T I decided to create the video above. In this quick clip I talk about the real reasons why women entrepreneurs and professional women alike need to use twitter. For starters twitter gives you a social medium to build your personal brand online. It allows you to reach out to your target audience, share real time information with them, and get a real time response from them.

Using twitter as a marketing tool allows you to not just stay connected to your custom base, but help them connect you to the people in their circle. When I think about people sharing information and retweeting content on twitter I see it as ‘word of mouth marketing’ digital style. Branding, Marketing, Networking, Credibility Building are all just a few powerful things you can do through twitter.

That being said, watch the video above, leave questions in the comment box below, follow me @sistasense and @blackenterprise, then go read the latest BE post 3 Easy Ways to Solidify Your Personal Brand.
