Last week I had the pleasure of attending the Black Enterprise 20/20 Vision forum sponsored by Walmart in Charlotte NC. While there I reconnected with some of the wonderful ladies within my NC Women Entrepreneurs Group (ncwomen.sistasense.com) and the Black Business Women Online Social Network (www.mybbwo.com), like small business & motivational speaker Carol Sankar.

I asked Carol what she was working on (in the video interview below) and we started talking about some of the issues affecting black business women today. As Carol pointed out many female professionals struggle with understanding their value, how to monetize their content and create multiple streams of income. In this video she explains the first step to getting paid what you are worth is realizing that “We compromise because we want to, not because we have to.”

And when asked to talk about the Power of Networking Carol said, “The only way we can grow our businesses and affect change is if we get from behind the computer and shake hands with the people who value us the most.” To hear more about what Carol has to say, watch the video and be sure to visit her website carolsankar.com
