Email Marketing is a great way to get your news, business, or information in the inbox of interested readers and potential customers. For me, free email marketing comes from taking advantage of newsgroups and social spaces on which I can send my message out to large groups of niche-specific people for free.
I find the best News groups on: Yahoo News. There is also Google Groups, and MSN
I created free Lists by turning my friends circles on social networks into Free Email Marketing Portals. The key here is to constantly work at building your friends circles and filling them only with people specific to your niche, area of interest.
On Myspace I have over 7,000 friends. I use the bulletin feature on myspace as a free email marketing tool.
When you create your own social network, your members essential become a free group of people you can send emails to. What’s great about social networks is that all your friends and/or members opted into your list by befriending your or joining your group, which increases the chance that they will read your email. The key in maintaining their readership is to:
1. Focus primarily on sending quality content related to your niche
2. Don’t send out too many emails
3. Don’t focus on selling them all the time
4. Remember to always keep the lines of communication open

When I started my business of helping people (especially women and mothers) to turn their interests into income, my first and best approach at growing my list and making more contacts using email was to send a warm letter introducing my products and services to everyone that I knew. I also asked each of these people to pass along my information to people that they knew. I sent this letter out both via email and snail mail. It worked perfectly to get me started.
