A little back story first before I get to my new life as a coupon saving mompreneur and everything you should know about Power Circle Connections…

I do a ton of radio and magazine interviews in which I fondly talk about moving to NC. The move was mainly for my son and also because the cost of living here vs in New York is significantly lower. North Carolina is a wonderful place to live, but the downside for me has always been the friends and family I had to leave behind. I’ve had my share of ugly cries missing my old besties, my mom, my sisters andso my great move did honestly come at a price. I share this because my loss speaks to how much I have gained from forming close bonds with Larie Write, Rhonda Nails, Katrina Harell and Anissa Barbee the heart of my NC Power Circle. My NC women entrepreneurs group now has close to two hundred members, but these ladies are truly special to me because it’s been a long time since I’ve had a group of sister friends to make my home really feel like home.

Every month my SistaSense Power Circle and I meetup and for the last month every week we have been planning the BIG event, the Good Life Girlfriends Women’s Day Workshop happening in Raleigh (full details here). From now on I’ll be sharing more details about SistaSense Meetups and Events, so I thought today would be a great day to take you inside the last SistaSense Power Circle meetup; Rhonda Nails hosted a private Couponing workshop for us and we took a couponing trip to Harris Teeters in Durham NC.

More truth… at first I was skeptical when it came to couponing because I’ve seen the show with these super saving coupon moms that live to coupon and I knew I didn’t have time to what they did, plus I didn’t think I would actually find coupons for stuff that I wanted, but I was wrong. After taking Rhonda’s workshop I found out I could do this on my time, get items I actually needed (see the photo of what I purchased above), plus I soon realized how much money I could have saved if I had started sooner. Rhonda said getting serious about couponing allowed her to save up for her summer vacation to the Bahamas! Not to mention the fact that she’s got a years supply of things like cereal, tooth paste, soap and tissue paper for pennies on the dollar; all things that I need and spend too many dollars purchasing, so this one workshop was definitely well worth it.

In the video below Rhonda shares one quick tip, but here is one too good to keep secret. Rhonda put us all onto eBates.com, where you can get cash back for your online purchases. Who knew? Not I who spent over $1200 on airline tickets to speak at Blogalicous in Vegas and then realized I could have gotten at least 3% cash back on the purchase! As soon as I got home I signed up to eBates and just this week got my $10 Target Gift Card in the mail for signing up plus got cash back on purchasing my Hotel Tickets from Orbitz through eBates, which was so awesome! Rhonda has this amazing list of other websites and she shared how to be savvy about your cash back bonuses from eBates, but you have to attend the Good Life Girlfriends event to get all her coupon saving secrets.

Beyond the fact that I saved $40 (more on that to come), I had so much fun and learned quite a bit about being a coupon cutting money saving mom from Rhonda. Enjoy the other video below and if you are in the area be sure to register for the upcoming Good Life Girlfriends event.

In association with the wonderful ladies mentioned above I will be hosting my biggest women’s event to date and Rhonda will presenting a session on how she purchased $100+ of groceries for $1. Not to mention all the giveaways we are planning for you, including three special giveaway grocery baskets Rhonda is personally creating as we speak. Real talk… if I wasn’t hosting this event I would so try to grab one of these baskets myself. Rhonda is the Coupon Queen in my book!

As for this event… All the $10 early bird tickets are gone (they went in the first 24 hours), but we still have room for you. Regular registration is $20 and you can come with a friend for $30. Hope to see you there.
