3 Pillars of Success: Donna Maria Coles Johnson Shares

Over the years I’ve enjoyed sharing some of Donna Maria’s information-packed videos here on the SistaSense Blog and even having Donna Maria Keynote the 1st SistaSense Power Circle. Last week I was on cloud nine because after all these years of networking online, I finally met Donna Maria in person at the Black Enterprise 20/20 Vision forum sponsored by Walmart in Charlotte NC.

While catching up she agreed to do the video (featured below) to share what she’s currently working on within the Indie Beauty Network as well as a few powerful lessons learned at the BE Event. We discussed the 3 Pillars of Success: Technical Competence, Relational Competence, and
Political / Influential Competence.

I personally enjoyed when she talked about one thing that we should be doing for each other as women entrepreneurs. Beyond networking and support we also need to prioritize challenging each other to take things to the next level. Compliments and kind words are wonderful, but as Donna Maria points out it is the constructive criticism and accountability among one another that will help us grow as individuals and business owners. It’s the kind of support I give, hope to receive and try to nurture whenever my power circle comes together.
