    1. I am a BBWO member and a SistaSense Reader.
    2. At Blogalicious 2011, I would like to finally connect in-person with Lashanda Henry, Pam Perry and many other online women entrepreneurs who I have grown to love and respect.
    3. My main goal for 2011 in support of others is to establish an expert-led entrepreneurship training program for disadvantaged moms of color who live in the ghetto of south Atlanta. We are holding our fundraiser banquet on 9-12-11; and training classes are tentatively scheduled for 10-10-11 and 11-14-11 at a state-of-the-art community center (The Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center) in the middle of the south Atlanta ghetto.

    Good Morning.

I am a member of BBWO and would love to be the recipient of this generous gift. While I am not completely new to blogging, this is the first time that I have been seriously committed to the craft. While reading your ebooks and networking with other BBWO members, I realize that there is so much more for me to learn. I am a sponge and I love to learn. I see Blogalicious 2011 as an opportunity for me to learn from some of the best experts in the industry. I also look forward to the opportunity to network with other like minded women attending this event. I plan to help others by sharing the information and knowledge that I acquire. I am a person that loves to share knowledge and information. Recently I created “Work It Out Wednesday”, as a way to share information with my fans and followers. Every Wednesday, I post information on my facebook fanpage about a nutrition/fitness business or a weight loss success story. By promoting these businesses, I am spotlighting a small business owner and the great services that they offer. With the weight loss success stories, I am celebrating the accomplishments of others who have had similar struggles. It also shows my fans that their weight loss goals are attainable and allows them to reach out to that person for advice and encouragement. In closing, I would like to just thank you for all that you do and for this opportunity.

    Sincerely,
    Shimeka

Hi! Congrats on winning an all expenses paid trip! I am a member of BBOW. I am excited about attending Blogalicious because I have seen the sisterhood that has come out of this great conference. I am eager to learn all I can about maximizing my social media presence. I want to learn how to grow my brand into a full fledged business! Plus I will get to meet you, Pam Perry and Justice Fergie again. 🙂 If I win the ticket, I plan to gift it to my friend who also wants to attend Blogalicious. She has a huge vision for her business and I want to help support her in anyway I can so why not bless her with a ticket if I win it? 🙂

  4. Michelle Hawkins says:

    1. I am a member of both. I would love to have a win a ticket to Blogalicious.

    2. I would be attending to learn how to better use my blog as command central and to put live people with the images and information that has been so helpful to me. You miss a great deal not having that personal interaction. That’s why the live sessions are so good we need that human contact especifically if you are working from home.

I have helped to fund three kickerstarter projects,an author, the project 51 near the site of the world trade center and the Awkward Girl youtube series.(They all reached their goal YAH!!!) I also regularly contribute to Baitual Salaam (longtime supporter) domestic violence organization in Georgia and the Cultural Cup food bank in Phoenix,Arizona. I beleive if you hold your hand so tight the Creator can’t put anything in it, so I try and play it forward whether I can afford it or not, even if its only $5.00. Those $5.00’s can add up quickly.

If I win the ticket I would contribute to some more entrepreneurs and cheer them on to get funded and finish putting up my own project.

  5. Michelle Bardlett says:

Yes I am a BBWO member

I am currently running a promotion that assist the American Red Cross Disaster Relif Fund also I have been purchasing gift certificate for grocery stores to be given away for the Thanksgiving Holiday, the next upcoming promtion will be for the toys for tots program. I am a firm believer of paying it forward as we are blessed for what we have and must always share our blessings.

  6. Mahogany Kyles says:

1)Hello I am a BBWO member. I would be the most blessed person on the planet to receive a ticket to blogalicious!!

    2) I would be attending to network with fellow bloggers and grow my PASSION for blogging and helping others love their natural selves no matter what shape , color, or size that may be. I am a newbie to this wonderful world of blogging and for the first time in my life I believe I have finally found what my calling in life is suppose to be.

My main goal for support in others in 2011 is to help, motivate, support, and promote all of the “lil guys” like me in the industry. It seems so much nowadays that people are like crabs in a barrel when it comes to TRULY supporting and uplifting each other so that WE ALL can get somewhere. I have a huge background in Business (I have a MBA) and I have been helping and volunteering to help others get their business plans together to grow in the natural hair community. I cross promote with others never excluding anyone ( Be it my own blog, facebook fan pages, youtube, other social networking groups etc).
There is enough room in the pie for everyone to have a piece and shine in their respective expertise to really cater to the needs of natural living and I make a vow to be that bridge in 2011 and beyond to help who ever is willing to work with me to leave a harmonious mark in this industry.

I would be so honored to receive this gift. The saying is “each one teach one”. We are all blessings to have the gift of knowledge and expertise…It is my firm belief that we miss out on our blessings and our purpose in life when we don’t share them .

Thank you for giving us this opportunity,

    Sincerely,
    Mahogany Kyles

I’m super excited about Blogalicious 2011. I too entered the My Blog In Living Color contest in hopes of making my way to Washington D.C. I’m not new to blogging however I had never even heard of Blogalicious until I met LaShanda Henry and joined BBWO. This experience has changed my life and inspired me to dig even deeper into my passion.

A couple months ago I launched BlackLoveForum.com. A website and community dedicated to improving relationships in the black community. The website is only the online entity of the movement. I also plan to extend our efforts offline with everything from events to classes in the same vein of building relational wealth. I use the term MOVEMENT because I feel that the BLF plight is akin to civil rights and other movements. It is a fight to change the current state of our existence and make our communities whole and healthy once again.

A trip to Blogalicious is not just about me or my blog, its about OUR community and restoring love, dignity and honor to the way we live and love each other. Its my way of changing the world one community at a time.

  8. Dwritewell says:

Yes, I am a BBWO Member & SistaSense Reader, its where I got my Blogging Start. LaShanda, Congrats to you on WINNING, you deserve it!

Thank you for GIFTING ME THE WINNING TICKET to the Blogalicious 2011 Event. Look at the winning smile I have :).

I am just the right person to be gifted with the ticket to the Blogalicious 2011 Event, one because I have finally got out of my own way to become who I already am by gifting my time and energy to

teen girls just when I thought what I was doing wasn’t working and I began having a moment because of the lack of involvement by some parents.

Truly I had to tell myself, Daphne you do it for the Teens, and not the parents, they may never see your value, but keep going because

it will manifest greatness in each girl you mentor. (Often I talk to myself to keep ME going, I just don’t answer as often as most, lol)

When I have felt like that in the past, which I never plan to revisit those feelings, because not only do I know what I am doing matters is effective, I simply see it in my teens eyes when they

say why can’t we have a Motivated Beauty session daily, again I smile 🙂

These same teen girls tell me they are happy that I relocated to the South because they had nothing to do in relations to helping

them with loving and valuing themselves while building their businesses.

I get hand written notes that pushes me to become more and do more for them through my program. Keep in mind it isn’t why I do what I

do, I know it is a great need for teens in the South, since the school systems aren’t teaching the same way in bigger states nor

are the children exposed to all sorts of workshops and seminars like the free or low cost writing classes, film making and other

workshops other bigger cities offer, so if the parents don’t have the money or see the value in leading their children out of poverty

the cycle simply continues, so I have a passion to crack, disable and destroy poverty to break it where it often rests; in the minds of generations

of the past who are crippling their children, thereby setting them up for failure, which is why I have such a passion for doing what I do because I know a change will surely come in the lives of the TeenPreneurs, I mentor.

Without a doubt the lessons and educational tools both on and offline that I am equipping the TeenPreneurs ™ with enough where they can reach back, thus prompting them to become Motivational Life/Teen Coaches & Mentor themselves, hence teaching the next generation of teens coming up that are aspiring to ONLY become a Rapper/Singer/Model

(nothing wrong with Rapping/Modeling/Singing, but learn the business of it all, so you can manage it successfully, which is

something we teach too within the After School Program), we teach them that it is more to flash, fame, and big names.

When I say we (my mom & I) teach the TeenPreneurs how prominent they can be by being themselves, but first learning who they are and what they

offer, so they can make a living at it, so within the sessions, we teach them about the Internet, Marketing and Branding by showing

them this site, and introduce them to the LaShanda Henry’s, Lavanda Thompson’s, Evelyn Bourne’s, Pam Perry’s, and Cynthia Frazier’s, thus showing them you see there are women who look like you and may have even struggling in similar areas as you, so they can not only

see their way out put pull themselves and others out by first valuing, respecting, and honoring themselves and their gifting they bring to the world, their city, and towns.

I am teaching them yes get yours, but be humble and teach others on your journey, and learn not to be self, so the first lesson consist of mastering putting the oxygen on one self, we teach it’s importance (and I am so honest with them, I tell them I am still learning this one).

Then I tell them once they learn to breathe be sure to go back and ignite, teach, and lead others by helping them find their oxygen
    mask.

It is all about staying empowered, then empowering others to empower themselves and repeat the cycle so empowering is the thriving force in their city, lives and surroundings.

Needless to say running a teen program wasn’t what I started out building I just saw a need and reflected on when I was a teenager

and all of what I needed and didn’t get, so I launched the Teen Program last year in my South Carolina dining room, and have recently been given a building to run workshops although it isn’t equipped with all we need I am teaching them to think it into

existence, so we are doing just, and believe it or not it is fun teaching The Laws of Attraction to youth especially the look on their faces when things they wrote down and decreed occurs before their eyes.

As a teen, I didn’t get a lot of mentoring, so I am consistently having events in my home (when I didn’t have a space because I know

the need was high to be an influence to the teens in South Carolina where they were basically sitting at home texting or on the Internet viewing pictures and doing God only knows what.

It is my passion to give the teens a desire to grow older with wisdom and equipped with tools that can be used as transferable
skills that can launch their dreams and family out of poverty.

Sadly, it is a common place for young girls to attend Junior Prom Pregnant as they have initiated a Pregnancy Pact, and personally something must be done about that alone, so I am planning to have a Teen Summit 2011 on this with all the money I make on my main blog to be sure to let the girls know the importance of waiting and living before committing to getting pregnant.

If not the parents, I will be the voice of our Teens because someone MUST Stand on the battle field for them and scream from the

Blogalicious Gates screaming WHOOT! WHOOT! I am here representing our Teens/Tweens In SC, NYC, NC, GA, FL, DC & Africa (as well as beyond soon) where all our Motivated Beauty Teens presently reside, where I am building chapters to enlighten, empower, and engage teen girls in the Internet world of making a difference but first by making money, NOW!

I do not have children, which makes me fight that much harder for the ones who are abandoned by those who are suppose to care for

them, the ones who are abused, mistreated, shunned, and disregarded by society, since it is a similar story I endured. I get it from my big sister Oprah, I guess lol.

I will stand proxy as an advocate for Teen/Tween girls, and Youth in general, so they can avoid a lot of the struggles I had growing up not loving myself, and not

discovering my power until I was a woman, which unlike what the world teaches them, it doesn’t lay between one’s legs (you would be surprised some of the stories I have heard recently by some of the teens in all states),

but rather between you eyes and chest (the brain & the heart), learning to love oneself, and owning one’s power is the most influential as well as empowering tool anyone can and should

teach girls, so they do not simply give themselves away looking for love in the empty abandoned faces of lost boys without direction (not all boys simply the ones who are lost also needing mentoring and often never obtain it) hoping to replace that

warm embrace of an absent Dad they never knew they had because they either never met him or has been traumatized my him. I never meant to write all this, but the teens MUST have their say in the best way, and I will speak it loud, boldly and clear until we all listen and care, so I make no apologies for loving them straight out of depressions, resolutions while teaching them that which meant to destroy them is their gift to someone else simply because they have survived it.

It is part of my purpose to show teen girls how to become significant on purpose without having to make excuses for being smart and equipped to live their best life, NOW through personal

development, the power of their minds, thoughts, vision boards, and publishing their truths so they can learn to love while learning that indeed their is freedom and peace in forgiving themselves, and those who have harmed you, NOW!

The workshops I have taken part online, I teach it to the Teens in order to expand their precious minds and vision boards,

so needless to say we have bi-weekly vision boards parties, and they loooooove them, but NOT more than me. *GIGGLES* lol

Teaching the teens to respect, & honor, while leveraging their lives, their youth, their talents, their education, their resources, their ideas, their vision, and most importantly their VOICE, I equip them for greatness and push them towards purpose on purpose by showing them how to publish, patent and create what is in their hands even if it a seminar I put in their hands, I have attended on Leveraging Social Media.

I teach it to them, so they can be equipped and stay abreast of technology, social media, women who lead by example, teens that are making a difference, and making money online.

My mission is to bring up a generation that is empowered to prosper while they are still young and not thinking negative like most of the educators and adults they see daily.

I have a ten (10) year old and six year old that are simply brilliant, and beautiful little girls-with a lot of challenges in many other areas, I will not mention-where I mentor them over
the telephone since they are no longer in SC for the Summer Workshops I offered them.

Their mom have enrolled them in the Teen Program because she said they would catch on quickly and she simply didn’t have the time because she is going through a way too much as a single mother to mentor them, so I stepped in to avoid a tragic ending or a total breakdown by the mother, and I am so glad I did.

The both of them inspire me so much, the 10 year old is already an Author (through a gifted program she was in), and both are gifted to prosper, we are currently looking for Seed Money, Angel Funders, and Investors to brand their patents, ideas that they have created and shared with me in confidence.

I am completely HONORED that GOD would trust me with other peoples children, their ideas, and gifting while strategically aligning me with the right people of Integrity, blogs (this one for all it has taught me when I first started building my brands online a year ago along with it’s amazing BBWO Members), and resources to help the teens give birth to every dream within and have the funds to make them a reality, NOW.

The main ingredient, I teach the teens as I have finally discovered that all they seek lays within, which I found was always inside of me, so I decided to pull out the treasures in them since I found the gems laying dormant with me.

Once I began focusing in on the Teens with every fiber of my being, and not on me aka Dwritewell it is branding itself in many other ways.

God has truly allowed the windows of heaven to open up and shower on me with many blessings, so be encouraged to sow into a child’s development the point here is when we put God’s business first, indeed he will take care of ours.

As we give, it shall be given back to use sort of all you do here LaShanda, so in advance, I say thank you for teaching us with your gifting of being an example of what excellence looks, and feels like.

The last and final reason, I look forward to WINNING is one to meet you in person, as you have helped me in so many ways, far too many to name here after this long winded thesis lmbo, and to absorb all the magnificent leaders like Pam Perry and countless others information to pour out of themselves their journey to becoming the leaders they are today by following their passions, thus teaching us all how to increase our bottom lines by becoming a better blogger (which I have helped 4 teens set up their blog to begin making online money based on them watching various youtube videos),

so I can continue to strategically build up the youth minds for learning, living well on purpose with a strategic plan, and becoming who they already, NOW!

NOW REPEAT AFTER ME, DAPHNE D. WILLIAMS aka DwriteWELL is the WINNER & she is going with me to the BLOGALIOUS 2011 Event because she WON THE CONTEST,

Now she can get some live footage from the Blogalious 2011 Event to bring back to inspire the Motivated Beauty TeenPreneurs, to show them writing the visions are essential in business. 🙂

Thank you LaShanda, truly YOU ROCK, you always show us bloggers a more excellent way of engaging, and being a leader.

    Signed wordy (LOL),
Daphne who just so happens to be a PROUD Teen Mentor

The work is so rewarding, my heart knows it too, notwithstanding often the stories my ears must hear isn’t always easy, but it is

ALL so WORTH IT because of the TeenPreneurs who are being EMPOWERED & INSPIRED through me, I thank God for using me as a vehicle to show a more excellent way through the vehicle of ENTREPRENEURSHIP, and this is something I have been doing all year and will continue to do because it is my purpose.

In my OWN voice, I say: WHOOT, WHOOT!!! ROTF SMH at ME … LOL, see you soon.

  9. katrinamharrell says:

    Oh wow! Congrats!

    1. Well you KNOW I’m an advede LH fan! I’ve learned everything I know about blogging from you! BBWO has been instrumental in helping me connect with wonderful women from around the country and has helped mold and shape me

    2. Meeting my sistas!!! I don’t get out to many conferences (stay at home mom FULL TIME) so attending will allow me to meet some other bloggers, learn some new tips to help me launch my info products. (finally) hug and meet Lashanda 😉 even though we live 1 hour apart here in NC lol, and expand my horizon as a blogger. I watched and read your feedback from last year and it made me wish I attended.

    3. Wow ok, I’m a doer not a doubter so everything I DO is committed to empowering and educating women entrepreneurs in particular women of color. I’m spreading my mission and work on building wealth through entrepreneurship, creating award shows and advocacy to bring attention to the wealth of talent in our community.

Hey some pretty deserving women entered the contest! Thanks for sharing this! Whether I win or not THANKS for being who you are and sharing like you do!

  10. Angeline Bandon-Bibum says:

    Greetings to you!
    1. Are you a BBWO member or SistaSense Reader? My plan is to become a member in the immediate future because I am very energized and motivated by what I’ve seen and heard. I especially enjoyed the Sista Sense Power Circle and the recording that I purchased.
    2. What are you looking forward to at Blogalicious 2011? I hope to learn more about the types and approaches to blogging. I also want to connect with very positive women who blog. Learning, exchanging ideas, and having fun with positive people is what I hope to do there.
    3. What is one thing you have done and/or plan to do this year in support of someone else? As a mother of three and a volunteer religious education teacher at my church, giving is a part of my life. One of the things I’d like to do, even with my busy schedule, is to continue to volunteer at my church.

    Best Wishes!

  11. Angela says:

    Congratulations on winning the contest!!

    1. Yes, of course!!

    2. I am looking forward to meeting other bloggers – networking, socializing, learning and sharing. I hope to get the inspiration and motivation that I need in order to update my own blog on a regular basis. I can’t wait to make new connections and build new relationships.

    3. This year I moved back home to support my loving, caring, giving grandparents – as their nurse, secretary, accountant, chauffer, and personal shopping assistant. 🙂 I have truly enjoyed the special moments that I’ve been able to share with them and would not trade this time for the world! I have been blessed with a wonderful family and am so fortunate to be able to finally give back to them for ALL that they have done for me over the years!!

  12. Rene Michelle Floyd says:

First of all, thank you LaShanda for giving me an opportunity and a chance to win and experience the Blogalicious conference through your generous gifting of a ticket you won…Giving truly is better than receiving.

I have been a member of BBWO since 2008 or 9. I have enjoyed seeing this community grow. I was seeking a group of women online that I can connect with, learn, share and grow from and that’s when I discovered BBWO!

I have all of your SistaSense online issues and purchased your Black Business Kit the last day of 2010!

I’ve had many challenges recently in my life and have been forced to take ‘baby steps’ to building my online business, thus my blog.

I am currently in the process of re-inventing myself as an online entrepreneur. I am a successful Natural Hair Care specialist and have a blog( NYBhair.com) but I want to create a more active and lifely blog using the WordPress platform, so I’ve been ‘learning’ how to use it and also learning graphics as well…at this point I have to be a DIY person.

I first heard about the Blogalicious event through following you and reading about it in your first issue of SistaSense Online… never knew conferences of its kind even existed.

When I went on the site (Blogalicious), I started praying about the opportunity of getting there no matter what my circumstances (financially). My heart started yearning for the chance to just get there…wow, then you came up with this announcement.

If the opportunity is granted to me to receive the Blogalicious ticket, I look forward to learning and sharing and connecting to others that are where I want to be (online). I feel that I also have attributes that others can partake in and grow from.

I also feel the experience would be a very rich and valuable one…something that will change my life forever!

The one thing that I have done and plan on doing in support of others is, continuously using my challenges to reach back and encourage others as they share with me their story.

I plan on doing this in a larger way through my NEW blog. I have a wealth of information and life experience that can help move people on their life’s journey and push them to greatness.

Thanks again LaShanda for this wonderful opportunity.

    Peace,
    Rene’ Michelle Floyd
