Strong Black Women and Tyler Perry's New Movie 'For Colored Girls'

While updating my facebook page, I stumbled upon the new trailer of Tyler Perry’s New Movie ‘For Colored Girls‘. Of course I had to watch the trailer, like the FB page, and then upload the clip to my OTHER BLOG iwatchblackmovies.com (in that order).

I discovered the picture above on the CNN Entertainment website, it got me thinking about the first time I watched the play ‘For Colored Girls Who have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow wasn’t Enuff” and then of course once I saw these sistas I HAD TO Buy the play written by Ntozake Shange. As a sista girl whose been through some not-so good times, this play was always something that hit home for me.

While I don’t normally talk about black movies on this blog, see trailer here, I felt compelled to do a quick post on this particular movie because it stars such an amazing cast of strong black women… Thandie Newton, Whoopi Goldberg, Anika Noni Rose, Omari Hardwick, Kerry Washington, Janet Jackson, Loretta Devine, Kimberly Elise, Phylicia Rashad, Tessa Thompson, Macy Gray, Richard Lawson and TJ Hassan.
