StartUp Steps Review + Fabulous Follow-Up Tip

A few week ago I wrote the post entitled, ‘Where will you be in seven days?‘. At the time, the New Year’s buzz was dieing down, so I wanted to encourage my fellow entrepreneurs to keep their goals in the front of their minds and to avoid letting old – bad – habits sink in. BUT before I get to the review, let me first share what I like to call a ‘Fabulous Follow-Up Tip’. It should go without saying that quality customer service keeps your current customers happy and helps drum up that word of mouth buzz that we all love. When I work with my clients I like to do two things: always provide prompt turn-around and follow-up once they have received a service from me. Sending previous clients a friendly reminder is a great way to find out how they are doing, what they liked about your business, and what they would like in the future. Too many entrepreneurs just make the sale and the RUN to the bank without showing their customers that they value their business. You would be surprised how a simple email, call, or direct mail piece can keep you looking good to the people who matter most.

As my good friend Richelle Shaw likes to point out, “It is 10 times harder to make a sale from a new customer than it is to make a sale from an old customer.” Be good to your customers and they will be good to you; providing you with great feedback, testimonials, return service and referrals!
