We all know that there is a lot of money to be made in the eCommerce world. Every second of everyday people are buying products and services online. But for all of those people, there are millions more going online simply to search for information. The internet was originally created as a space to find information and to this day, that’s the number one reason why people still use. If you can create ‘information websites’ also known as ‘authority websites’ you can take advantage of one of the easiest ways to make money on the internet with revenue streams like Google Adsense and Affiliate Marketing.
An information website, is simply a user-friendly, easy to navigate, simply designed website chock full of information on a particular topic. These sites tend to make money through advertising like Adsense because of the large amounts of traffic the get from search engines and keyword dense spaces focused on specific topics with popular ad links. People in search of information online are generally looking for answers, experts, and practical solutions to their problems. After searching forums and blogs, they tend to gravitate towards information websites created solely to provide answers to their questions.
You can turn your expertise into money online by creating your own information / authority website. All you have to do is the following:
1. Select a Topic You Know a lot about or you like enough to spend the time to research that topic and collect a wealth of information on the subject
2. Use the Google keyword tool to make sure that topic and relate keywords get a decent amount of traffic on a monthly basis. Select 5 to 10 keywords for your topic and check the traffic for each one. If the combined traffic on all your keywords doesn’t equate to at least 50,000 unique searches per month, don’t waste your time creating a website for that topic.
3. Write a complete series of how-to and resource articles for that topic (at least 25 – 50 articles). Don’t build the site before you write the articles, your goal is to create a space full of valuable content for readers and ‘key-word’ dense content for search engines. An empty website won’t bring search engine traffic or keep readers interested for very long.
4. When you got all your content, then you can build a website. It’s important that your website is optimized for search engines and easy for readers to navigate.
5. While designing your website, you can blend Adsense Ads and relevant Affiliate Product links into your content. Blending your ads is very important. The text color, font style, and background color of your ads should look just like the text on your website. Most online viewers don’t trust ad links, so you want to keep their trust, by making the ads look as if they are your authentic content. It’s a little tricky, but it’s the most effective way to increasing the click through rate of your ads.
